Rock Hill offense returns in victory

PEDRO - The offense returned.
After being shutout in their first game at their new ball park, the Rock Hill Redmen rebounded with 14 hits and a 15-5 win over the St. Joseph Flyers Thursday.
"We hit the ball pretty well up and down the lineup. It was nice to get that first win at our new field," Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.
The Redmen wasted little time getting their offense on track as they score four times in the first inning.
T.J. Blagg singled, Matt Wilson walked and Josh Moore singled in a run. Nathan Wagner doubled in a run and Mike Williams had a two-run triple.
The Flyers scored all their runs in the second inning.
Jeremy Addis walked, moved up on a wild pickoff throw, and Alex Swarts had an RBI single. Joe O'Leary and Aaron Whaley were hit by pitches to load the bases and then Ryan Schwab, Kurt Jordan and Ryan Waginger all followed with RBI singles.
The Redmen came back with two runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead for good.
Nick Howard doubled, K.C. Christian grounded out, and Blagg had an RBI single. Blagg stole second and came home when Justin Lavender doubled.
In the third inning, Moore walked, Wagner was hit by a pitch, and Williams singled to load the bases. Mark Anderson and Howard each doubled in two runs.
In the fifth inning, Wagner walked to start the inning, Anderson singled, Howard walked to load the bases and Blagg had a three-run triple. Lavender then walked and Wilson singled in Blagg.
Rock Hill ended the game early with three runs in the sixth inning.
Williams and Anderson were hit by pitches, Howard had an RBI double and then he scored after two wild pitches.
Howard went 3-for-3 and Blagg finished 3-5 to lead the offense. Anderson, Williams and Lavender were all 2-3.
Rock Hill, 5-3, hosts Coal Grove Monday.

BEAVER - The Green Bobcats must like keeping their fans in suspense.
For the third straight game, the Bobcats rallied late to pull out a win and remain unbeaten in the Southern Ohio Conference with a 5-3 victory over the Eastern Eagles Friday.
Green trailed 3-0 after five innings, then scored four times in the sixth inning and once in the seventh to get the win.
"Eastern deserves credit for playing a fine ball game. Fortunately, we were able to capitalize on some errors late in the game and get the win," Green coach Dave Shoupe said.
Green moves to 10-0 on the season and 8-0 in the SOC.
John Dawson got the win and is now 3-0 on the year. Brad Dehart went 2-for-4 and Odie Kelley drove in two runs to lead the Bobcats offense.
On Monday, Green hosts Symmes Valley in a league game.
