FRANKLIN FURNACE - Brock Russell is feeling less pressure. Ryan Bloomfield is causing more pressure. Together, they caused the South Webster Jeeps all kinds of problems.

Russell and Bloomfield combined talents Tuesday to lead the Green Bobcats to a 9-4 win over South Webster.

Russell pitched five innings and struck out six as he ran his record to 2-0. Bloomfield went 4-for-4 including three doubles and two runs batted in.

"Brock Russell had a strong outing. He keeps gaining valuable experience and is getting more consistent," Green coach Dave Shoupe said.

"Ryan Bloomfield was 4-for-4 with three doubles. It's great when you get that kind of performance out of the lead-off spot, putting pressure on the defense to make plays with the heart of the lineup coming."

John Dawson picked up his second save with two innings of work. Odie Kelly was 2-2 with a run batted in, Brian Ramey was 2-4 and Derek Lewis 2-4 with two RBI.

Green, 12-0 overall and leading the Southern Ohio Conference at 9-0, plays at New Boston in a league game Wednesday.
