CHESAPEAKE - It's never a dull moment with the Chesapeake Panthers.

With so many of their runners very comparable, Chesapeake was able to use its depth to win the Panther Relays Tuesday.

"Jeff and Andy are close in the hurdles. A lot of our guys are like that. We make things interesting," Panthers coach Phil Davis said.

The Panthers had 81 points to win the boys meet. Ironton was second with 52 points followed by Rock Hill with 41, River Valley 37 and Spring Valley 27.

In the girls' meet, Fairland won with 77 points. Ironton was second with 55 points followed by River Valley with 36, Spring Valley 28 and Chesapeake 26.

Davis said the effort has the Panthers looking forward to Friday's Rock Hill Invitational.

"We're getting a little better," Davis said.
