PEDRO - They just like to keep coach Barry Litteral reaching for his heart medication.

Okay, so Litteral doesn't have a bad heart. But that may change after another last-inning rally lifted the Rock Hill Redmen to a 7-6 win over the Waverly Tigers Monday in the Division II sectional semifinals.

"Waverly is a good team and hit the ball well. But we showed some heart and came back and pulled it out," Litteral said. "As long as they keep winning, that's alright."

Rock Hill, 12-6, will play at Jackson at 5 p.m. Thursday in the sectional finals. Jackson beat Vinton County 11-1.

Waverly got a run in the top of the first inning on a home run by Willis only to have Rock Hill tie the game in the third inning.

Nathan Wagner singled, Mark Anderson was safe on a fielder's choice, and scored when K.C. Christian's base hit got through for a two-base error.

The Tigers regained the lead in the fourth on Kritzwiser's home run and Rock Hill tied the game in the bottom of the inning.

Justin Lavender walked, moved up on a ground out, and pinch-runner Nick Bryant came home on a double by Mike Williams.

Waverly got two in the sixth inning.

Kritzwiser walked, Hartsock singled and Wickline had a two-run double.

The lead went to 6-2 in the top of the seventh.

Salisbury was hit by a pitch and Willis singled to bring on Josh Moore in relief.

Elliott got a seeing-eye base hit to drive in the runners.

But then Rock Hill staged its rally in the bottom of the frame.

Wagner led off with a base hit and Anderson followed with a single. Nick Howard got an infield hit and Wagner scored on a wild pitch.

Christian and T.J. Blagg walked to force in a run and Lavender grounded out as a run scored. Wilson walked, Moore got an infield hit to tie the game and Wagner singled to drive in the winning run.

Moore got the win after Wagner went the first 6.1 innings. Wagner also went 3-for-4 at the plate.

"Wagner showed good, quality senior leadership," Litteral said.
