A Flatwoods, Ky., man remains hospitalized this morning following an apparent assault during the weekend.

Robert Green, 29, was taken to King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky., where he was treated and released.

Ironton police were summoned to the 2500 block of South Third Street Saturday at 4:06 a.m. by a resident who said a man was on her porch covered in blood. Police detective Jim Akers said the man could give little information about what happened to him.

It is believed he was assaulted from behind by someone wielding an object that has neither been identified or recovered.
