"Anytime you win at the tournament level, you're happy. We just wanted a chance to move on," Lady Vikings coach Jeff "Odie" Estep said.

Symmes Valley, 23-4, will play Reedsville Eastern at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the district semifinals at Minford.

Kristen Crabtree pitched a no-hitter as she struck out eight and walked just one. The only run was unearned.

"Crabtree threw another good game for us and we put the ball in play well," Estep said.

The Lady Vikings settled the issue early with a seven-run first inning.

Emily Bowling doubled to start the inning, Rebecca Capper and Jodi Black reached on errors and Megan Coomes walked to force in a run.

Crabtree hit a sacrifice fly, Renee' Campbell and Natasha Pointer each had run-scoring singles. Kayla Justice was safe on an error and two runs scored on a throwing error from the outfield.

The lead went to 9-0 in the second inning.

Black and Coomes singled and pulled off a double steal. A wild pitch scored Black and Crabtree grounded out as Coomes scored.

Symmes Valley put the game away with five runs in the third inning.

Justice singled to start the rally, Brittany Scott walked, Bowling was safe on an error and Capper hit into a force play that scored Justice. Coomes then doubled home a pair of runs and Crabtree singled in another run.

A passed ball sent Crabtree to second base and she scored when Campbell's fly ball was misplayed for an error.

Coomes went 2-for-3 as the Lady Vikings had eight hits.
