UPPER TOWNSHIP - He was naked and he needed a ride.

Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies and Ironton Police officers arrested a Porter Gap Road man Sunday after neighbors complained a naked man was allegedly trying to steal items from their homes.

John D. Ratliff, 20, of 1486 County Road 21, Ironton was charged with disorderly conduct and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

Authorities were dispatched to the Porter Gap/Smith Road area after one resident called the sheriff's office and alleged a nude male was trying to steal a go-cart from his property, and another resident alleged Ratliff came to his residence "nude and very intoxicated" and entered the residence without permission "to avoid the law."

Both residents declined to file charges in regards to the incident.
