If your drive home has seemed like an obstacle course lately, take heart, the construction work in parts of Ironton is almost complete.
The paving contractor for the City of Ironton will be repaving Sixth Street from Vine Street to Kemp Avenue on Tuesday.
Preparations for the paving will continue through Monday. Sixth Street will be blocked the entire distance on Tuesday, with limited blocking on Monday.
All motorists are encouraged to avoid this area on both days.
The paving contractor will be preparing Third Street from Adams Street to Center Street on Monday and Tuesday to make way for repaving of Third Street on Wednesday.
Third Street will be blocked throughout the day on Tuesday and all day Wednesday while the preparation and paving is taking place.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area on Tuesday and Wednesday by using alternate streets to the east and west of Third Street.
Ironton City Engineer Philip Biggs said all vehicles on the affected sections of roadway must be removed to allow the work.
Vehicles not removed will be towed at the owner's expense, Biggs said.
