JACKSON COUNTY- A Waterloo woman and her child who were reported missing Monday by family members in Lawrence County have been located in Jackson County.

Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton said Vickie McCarty, 31, and her 3-year-old son, Nathan, are alive and well.

Sexton said he did not want to comment on why McCarty may have left without telling family members where she was going. McCarty was reported missing Monday, more than two months after her family last saw her.
