Drug bust nets three arrests

A drug investigation ended with three arrests Friday night on Lane Street in Coal Grove.

Members of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, Lawrence Drug Task Force and the Coal Grove Police Department arrested three people and charged them with trafficking in Oxycontin after an investigation that concluded on Friday night.

Arrested were Teresa Preddy, 41, and Steven Preddy, 44, both of 6375 Studebaker Road, Tipp City. Also arrested was James R. Jenkins, age 30, who said he lived at the Colonial Inn in Ashland, Ky.

The three are charged with trafficking and/or complicity to trafficking in Oxycontin. During the arrest, several hundred dollars in cash, pills and other drugs and paraphernalia were seized.

All three subjects will appear before the Ironton Municipal Court on Tuesday.
