COLUMBUS - Long a local favorite, now the Lawrence County Fair is getting some attention from Columbus.

Attorney General Jim Petro's office will present a Certificate of Recognition to the Lawrence County Agricultural Society in honor of their work in organizing the 2005 Lawrence County Fair. The state's agricultural societies use the fair to educate Ohio's citizens about agriculture, the state's No. 1 industry.

"I commend the Lawrence County Agricultural Society for all of their hard work in the planning and implementation of the fair," Petro said. "The county fair provides children with a family-friendly environment in which to learn about the rich tradition of Ohio agribusiness."
