NEW YORK - Lights, camera, tape.
The process begins Thursday as John Carpenter visits the set of ESPN2 morning show Cold Pizza.
Carpenter, the owner of the world's largest privately owned sports memorabilia collection, begins taping at the studio. Carpenter said the segment could air as early as Friday and probably no later than Monday or Tuesday.
ESPN2's John Anderson will conduct the interview.
"I'm really happy. John Anderson is real impressed with the collection," Carpenter said. "They have some film footage of the collection at the Highlands Museum (in Ashland, Ky.)."
Carpenter had breakfast Thursday with several staff members before the actual taping. He spent the night at the hotel New York, New York which is directly across from Madison Square Garden.
"New York is an unbelievable town," Carpenter said. "There have been a lot of great players who have played here. I'm enjoying it and it's going pretty well."
