Kerns duo Fathers#039; Day champions

Like father, like son.

Jeff and Nathan Kerns proved to be quite a pair as they teamed up to win the Fathers' Day Golf Tournament at Sugarwood Golf Course in Huntington, W.Va.

Jeff, the golf coach at Ironton High School, and Nathan, who will be a freshman, combined their talents to shoot a 4-under 67 for the tournament to win first place in the first flight.

For their efforts, they won a $100 gift certificate from the pro shop at Sugarwood.

Lewis gets ace

Marty Lewis of Ironton had a hole-in-one on June 27 at the Ironton Country Club. Lewis aced the 150-yard No. 8 hole using a 7 iron.

The feat was witnessed by Barney Hannon and Bob Shelton.

Hole-In-One for Willis

Carlos Willis of Ironton had an ace on Wednesday, July 6, at the Ironton Country Club. Willis hit his hole-in-one on the 150-yard No. 8 hole. Mort Willis witnessed the ace.

Ladies 9-Hole League

Any women interested in participating in the Ladies 9-Hole League at the Ironton Country Club are to meet at 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
