Three cases of allegedly ill-gotten brew has landed an Ironton man in jail.

Gordon King, 18, who has told authorities he is homeless, was arrested early Monday morning in connection with the break in at the Park Avenue Carryout.

"A garbage truck was going through the alley and noticed the carryout had been broken into and saw a man and called police," Ironton Police detective, Capt. Jim Carey said.

King was arrested a short time later after a brief pursuit. He was charged with breaking and entering and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

It is alleged that King took the three cases of beer during three visits to the store.

"He kicked out a window and stole one case of beer and returned later and took two more cases and the third time, that's when the garbage truck saw him," Carey said.
