COAL GROVE - Summer break just got a little longer for students in the Dawson-Bryant School District.

Students were scheduled to start school Aug. 19 but the first day has been pushed back to Aug. 26 while contractors finish a variety of improvements to the high school and the middle school.

Contractors asked school officials for the extra week to make sure the school was ready to have students return to the halls.

Improvements include a new roof on the high school and middle school gym and heating and cooling improvements.
