CHESAPEAKE - Fall is quickly approaching and that means members of the Chesapeake Area Citizens Coalition are starting to prepare for their annual Octoberfest.
The group is looking for volunteers who are interested in helping to plan or work at the annual Octoberfest, which is scheduled for Oct. 8 at the Chesapeake Triangle.
Dick Gilpin, chairman of the CACC, said that they are planning on having entertainment throughout the day, a distance run, a 9-mile bike race, a car show and a firetruck parade.
Gilpin said they hope to have some inflatables for the children to play on.
"A lot of everything," Gilpin said of the event.
The CACC sponsors the Octoberfest to provide a community gathering and as a way for it and other organizations to raise funds.
The group will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at Chesapeake Middle School
to discuss the festival. Gilpin said that anyone that would like to be a part of the organization is invited to attend the meeting.
