Lady Hornets give Willis first win in coaching debut

Coal Grove
won 25-22, 25-17, 15-25, 25-17. It was the Lady Hornets first Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win in nearly three seasons and gave Sherri Willis a win in her head coaching debut.
"We had a lot of teamwork and the girls are really working well together," Willis said. "I have to give credit to my assistant coach Michelle Dillow. We're like the girls. We work as a team."
Coal Grove scoring: Tracy Tackett 14, Katie Collins 15, Chelsea Markins 13, Hannah Willis 8, Kara Moore 3, Kelli Grove 10, Caymie Collier 11, Rikki Butler 16, Taylor Sexton 2.
Chesapeake scoring: Rachel Harris 1, Katie Bennett 2, Sarah Brock 16, Kristina Flagg 10, Brandy Kirk 11, Stephanie Rucker 4, Brittany Sowards 17, Sara Rucker 16.
Junior varsity: Coal Grove won in two sets.
Next match: Coal Grove hosts Rock Hill 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Chesapeake at South Point Tuesday.
