PROCTORVILLE - The Fairland Lady Dragons won an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball match in straight sets Thursday over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets.

Fairland won 27-25, 25-12, 25-16.

Fairland leading scorers: Briana Davis 12, Kayla McGhee 9, Molly Bumgardner 6.

Rock Hill at Chesapeake

The Rock Hill Redwomen took a 25-14, 25-22, 25-9 straight sets win over the Lady Panthers in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball match Thursday.

Rock Hill scoring: Bridges 14, Ruth 12, Huddie 12, Settle 6, Glenn 14, Harper 16.

Chesapeake scoring: Katie Bennett 9, Kristina Clagg 4, Brandy Kirk 3, Stephanie Rucker 7, Brittany Sowards 16, Sara Rucker 6.

In the reserve match, Rock Hill won 25-13, 25-9.

Rock Hill scoring: Whitt 2, Deautremont 13, Delawder 11, Harris 2, Scott 8, Layne 4, Rudolph 9.

Chesapeake scoring: Jamie Davidson 2, Nikki Lindsey 5, Ashlee Tyree 3, Sara Cravens 2, Hannah Henderson 3, Megan Sites 5, Stephanie Sizemore 3.

Symmes Valley wins 2

The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings took a key Southern Ohio Conference volleyball match Tuesday, 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 16-25, 15-12 over Portsmouth Clay.

Brigette Thompson had 20 points, Rebecca Capper 18 Tiffany Bryant 14 kills for the Lady Vikings.

The junior varsity lost in three sets.

On Wednesday, the Lady Vikings swept South Point in straight sets 25-11,

Capper scored 17 points and Ashley Wilson 16 for Symmes Valley.

Next: Symmes Valley, 6-1, played at Green Thursday; at Beaver Eastern at 6 p.m. Tuesday in a pivotal SOC match.

Symmes Valley Jr. High

On Monday, the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 7th grade won a Southern Ohio Conference volleyball match 25-13, 15-11 over Portsmouth Notre Dame.

Lady Vikings scoring leaders were Jesse Morris 14, Ada Humphrey 13, Kayla Roth 12.

In the 8th grade match, the Lady Vikings lost 25-13, 25-20.

Chelsea Waugh had 10 points to lead the Vikes.

On Wednesday at Portsmouth East, the 7th grade (5-1) won in two sets, 25-20, 25-14.

Ashley Basedon had 21 points for the Lady Vikings.

In the 8th grade match, Waugh had 14 points and Katie Bloomfield 11 as the Lady VIkings (4-2) beat East 25-21, 25-17.

Symmes Valley plays Monday at Portsmouth Clay.
