McDaniels scores 1st TD

MARIETTA (AP) - Paul Stelzer tossed three touchdown passes and John Scott ran for 153 yards and a score to lead Otterbein to a 31-17 victory over Marietta on Saturday.

Stelzer connected on 28 of 47 attempts for 308 yards with one interception. Kyle Wolfe had 11 catches for 161 yards and Ricardo Lenhart had nine receptions for 88 yards and a score.

Former Ironton tight end Tyler McDaniels got Otterbein's first score on his first career touchdown reception.

McDaniels is a freshman.

Stelzer found Wolfe on a 59-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to give the Cardinals a 24-17 lead.

Scott added a 1-yard TD run in the fourth for Otterbein (3-1, 2-1 Ohio Conference), which finished with 28 first downs and 542 yards of offense.

Jason Curry had five receptions for 144 yards and two touchdowns for Marietta (2-2, 1-2), which finished with four turnovers. Jason Vrable threw three interceptions.

Otterbein's Kyle Whaley made six tackles, picked off two passes and recovered a fumble.
