Lightning may not strike the same place twice but bank robberies apparently do - three times actually.

US Bank, at 2301 S. Third St., in Ironton was robbed Friday evening, just minutes before closing. This makes the bank's third robbery in little more than a year. The branch was robbed April 2005 and June 2004.

The robbery was reported at approximately 6 p.m. Friday. Police are searching for a male subject who was wearing a dark shirt, straw hat and a mask.

The Federal Bureau of Investigations has been notified and the investigation continues.
