SOUTH POINT - The Tri-State Worship Center wants to let the community know it cares.

The center will host a Family Fun Day from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the South Point Park.

Terry Wagner, pastor of the church, said the church had an event like this last year in August, but this year the church decided to wait a bit later into the fall.

&#8221Our goal is to touch the community for the Kingdom of Heaven so all the churches in South Point can benefit from it,“ Wagner said.

He said the church wants to use the event as a way to let people know that churches are here. The church's mission is to help the hurting and embrace all people.

The event is free and offers many different things for all ages to enjoy. Live music from a Christian band, inflatables for the youth, craft tables, gifts and prizes and lots of food will be available.

Last year, Wagner said, the church gave away more than 500 chicken dinners.

Wagner said last year, he was heavily involved in the event, but this year he let the people of the congregation take over. Congregation member Brenda Horan and a host of volunteers are planning the event.

&#8221Our goal is not to make our own church grow,“ he said. &#8221It's a bigger vision - to see all the churches in South Point grow.“

Everyone is invited to attend the event Saturday.
