&#8220We played well,” Fairland coach Brent Wilcoxon said. &#8220Rich (Staggs) directed things well. Sammy (Huff) and Adam (Fuller) broke loose on some big plays.”

Staggs completed 8 of 10 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns. Fuller, who wasn't expected to play, ran eight times for 161 yards and four TDs while Huff caught five passes for 197 yards and two scores. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

&#8220Playing Fuller was a game-time decision. He didn't go full tilt all week. But it was fine before the game,” Wilcoxon said.

Huff went over 1,000 yards receiving, Staggs surpassed 2,000 passing and Fuller has more than 1,000 all-purpose yards on the season.

River Valley (1-8, 0-4) took a 6-0 lead on a 10-yard run by Bryan Morrow that capped a 46-yard, 10-play drive.

&#8220We started off slow. I didn't like the way we started,” Wilcoxon said. &#8220But after that we started making plays.”

Fuller scored on a 4-yard run and John Sicarda kicked the conversion to make it 7-6.

Jacob Goodall recovered the onside kickoff at the 33-yard line and two plays later Fuller ran 19 yards for the touchdown and Fairland led 13-6.

The Raiders came back with a 67-yard drive that culminated on a 6-yard run by Chris Edwards and it was 13-12.

But Fuller ran 48 yards to up the lead to 19-12.

Huff recovered a fumble at the Dragons 45 and Fuller went 55 yards on the next play and it was 26-12. Chad &#8220Fudge” Kilgore grabbed another fumble and two plays later Staggs hit Johnson with a 45-yard pass to make it 33-12 with 1:05 left in the half.

Huff caught a 49-yard touchdown pass from Staggs on the first play of the second half and it was 40-12. The Dragons got the ball back and this time the duo clicked on a 55-yard scoring pass and it was 46-12.

Josh Johnson returned an interception 82 yards to the 18 and two plays later Kilgore ran 1-yard for the touchdown.

After River Valley made it 52-18 on a 10-yard pass from Morrow to Ryan Henry, Huff ran back the kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown.

The final Fairland touchdown came a on 53-yard run by Travis Kilgore on the first play following a Raider punt.

Fairland snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. The Dragons are now 2-7 overall and 1-3 in the league. They host South Point next Friday.

&#8220Our tackles (Matt Burd, Kilgore, Spencer Baise) played outstanding up front,” said assistant coach Jeff Gorby. &#8220 We're starting to come together. We're playing a young group. We had five or six freshmen out there at times and we're competing.”
