HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Travis Aikens scored 17 points and Marshall placed five players in double figures in a 73-70 win over Youngstown State on Sunday.

Mark Patton scored 16, Joe Miles added 12, Chris Ross 11 and Tre Whitted 10 for Marshall (3-3).

Youngstown State's Quin Humphrey scored 18 points, with eight coming in the final minute, and grabbed a career-high 11 rebounds.

Younger brother Markel Humphrey, a Marshall guard, scored five points.

John Barber scored 16 points, while Keston Roberts and Dominique Crawford added 10 apiece for Youngstown State (1-4).

Youngstown State had built a five-point lead, but a 3-pointer by Miles and a dunk by Aikens in 30 seconds tied the game at 51 with 10:20 left.

Whitted hit a 3-pointer from the corner to give Marshall a 66-58 lead with 2:30 left.

Youngstown State scored six points in 15 seconds to cut the lead to 68-65 with 30 seconds left.

Marshall's defense forced Youngstown State into 14 turnovers in the second half to clinch its second straight victory.

The last time Marshall won back-to-back games was its defeat of Ball State and Eastern Michigan in February.
