LLOYD, Ky. — Elliott County doesn’t mind the bill from dialing long distance.

Elliott County hit 10 of 21 shots from 3-point range in a 76-56 win over the Green Bobcats Saturday at the Greenup County Pepsi Shootout.

Elliott County’s freshman trio of twin brothers Ethan and Evan Faulkner and Jonathan Ferguson combined for 58 points.

Ethan Faulkner scored 25 points including four 3-pointers. Ferguson had 19 points with two treys and Evan Faulkner scored 14 points.

“They were a very good offensive team. They shot the ball extremely well,” Green coach Kevin Lewis said. “But we played well for three quarters until we ran out of gas.”

Green felt the effects of Friday night’s grueling 68-66 win over Beaver Eastern.

“The score was not an indication of the type of game it was,” Lewis said. “We were in the game for three quarters, but when we started the fourth quarter we were on dead-empty. Fatigue really took its toll on us. We didn’t have any legs at the end.”

Derek Lewis led Green (2-2) with 17 points and four assists. Brian Ramey had 16 points, 12 rebounds and four assists. John Dawson added 12 points.

Ethan Faulkner had eight points in the first quarter to counter five by Lewis and the game was tied 13-13.

Ethan Faulkner scored 12 more points in the second quarter as Elliott County took a 33-29 lead at the half.

Ferguson got 12 of his 19 points in the third quarter as the lead went to 59-49. Lewis had seven points to keep Green within striking distance.

But the Bobcats managed only seven points in the fourth quarter — four by Dawson — as Elliott County began to pull away.
