CHESHIRE — The unknown worried coach Dave Adams.

Fortunately, the South Point Lady Pointers do not fear the unknown.

The Lady Pointers’ first trip to River Valley proved to be a good trip as they rolled to a 70-48 win Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We pressed early and played well. It’s always tough to play up there, it’s a long trip and we haven’t seen them, so you have to worry about how you’ll play,” Adams said.

Jessica Craft scored 19 points and Amy Frasure had 12 points as South Point improved to 6-4 overall and is tied with Fairland for second place in the OVC at 3-1.

South Point hosts Fairland Thursday.

Beth Payne led River Valley (2-8, 1-4) with 14 points while Brooke Taylor added 10.

Craft got eight points and Frasure nailed a 3-pointer in the first quarter as the Lady Pointers climbed in front 21-8.

Seven different players scored in the second quarter — Frasure had five points including another trey — as the Lady Pointers built a 41-16 halftime cushion.

Craft hit a 3-pointer and scored nine points in the third quarter as the lead grew to 59-33.
