Fairview uses double digit scoring to beat Flyers, 90-56

It was double or nothing for the Fairview (Ky.) Eagles.

The Eagles placed five players in double figures as they beat the St. Joseph Flyers 90-56 Friday.

Justin Hutchinson scored 24 points to lead the Eagles, now 19-5. Cody Black had 19, Trevor Holbrook 18, and Alex Barker and Danny Stewart had 14 each.

Fairview hit 13 3-pointers for the game, four each in the last three quarters.

Ryan Staton had 11 points and Alex Swarts nine for the Flyers.

The loss was the 10th straight for the Flyers who began the season 7-1.

Fairview took an 18-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and then outscored the Flyers 23-12 in the second quarter to go up 41-23 at the half.

“We came out and played aggressive in the third quarter. We didn’t do that to start the game,” Flyers coach Kevin Hacker said.

St. Joseph battled in the third quarter as the Eagles won the quarter just 23-21 to go up 64-44.

The Flyers host Rose Hill, Ky., next Friday.
