PEDRO — The Green Bobcats like to force the issue.

Green forced Portsmouth Clay into six errors en route to a 9-2 Southern Ohio Conference win Thursday.

“Like last night, we were able to put the ball in play and force the other team to make plays,” Green coach Dave Shoupe said.

Green pitcher Odie Kelly turned in a complete game as he struck out 12 and walked only one.

“Odie had another quality pitching performance,” Shoupe said.

Brian Ramey hit a home run and Derek Lewis and Kelly each went 3-5 at the plate as the Bobcats banged out nine hits.

Green, 8-2 and 8-1 in the conference, was scheduled to host Whiteoak in a Saturday doubleheader and visits East on Monday.
