Brian Ramey added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Bobcats.

“We didn’t play well. It’s always a struggle when you go to New Boston,” Green coach Kevin Lewis said. “But Nathan made shots when he had and Derek did a good job of finding the open man and hitting some big foul shots.”

Coupled with Clay’s 48-44 loss to Western Pike, Green (5-3) took over sole possession of first place in the SOC at 3-0.

“We got some good production off the bench. Joey Dyer had a good game, John Bowen and Ian Kelly all came off the bench and did a good job,” coach Lewis said.

New Boston (0-8, 0-4) was led by Tony Musick with 23 points. Rocky Dunkin scored 20 and Kris Lawson had 18.

Derek Lewis scored nine points and Patten eight in the first quarter as Green took a 23-11 lead.

New Boston closed to within 41-33 at the half. Patten had seven points in the quarter to help offset nine by Musick.

Ramey scored eight points in the third quarter but Dunkin had 10 for New Boston which took a one-point lead before Green regained the lead at 57-55.

Derek Lewis was 8 of 10 from the line in the fourth quarter and the Bobcats were 20 of 32 as a team. Patten scored nine points in the quarter.
