WAYNE, W.Va. — Trent Moore figured that enough was enough.
Moore hit a solo home run in the 10th inning to give the South Point Pointers an emotionally charged 4-3 win over the Wayne Pioneers Thursday.
Moore’s home run made a winner of Justin Smith who pitched the final four innings. He struck out eight and gave up just one hit.
Chase McWhorter, who had two doubles, and Moore each went 2-4 to lead the Pointers (8-4).
McWhorter hit what appeared to be a home run in the eighth inning only to be awarded a ground rule double.
An argument ensued and the police were even summoned as the game was delayed 25 minutes.
