PEDRO — Forget the Family Guy. How about the Pitching Guy?

Josh Guy threw a two-hitter and collected a couple of hits as the unbeaten Rock Hill Redmen blanked the River Valley Raiders 10-0 in five innings Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“Josh threw the ball really well. He only threw around 63 pitches for the game, so that’s pretty effective,” Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.

Rock Hill had 11 hits led by Josh Moore who was 3-3 including a home run. T.J. Blagg also homered and Carl Blankenship was 2-3.

Rock Hill wasted little time by scoring nine runs in the first two innings.

With two outs in the first inning, Michael Williams singled and Moore homered.

Blankenship followed with a single, J.C. Murnahan was hit by a pitch and Guy doubled home two runs. Mark Anderson then had a run-scoring single.

Four more runs scored in the second inning.

K.C. Christian singled and Blagg hit a two-run homer. Moore and Blankenship singled and Guy reached on an error as a run scored. Anderson and Nick Howard walked to force in a run.

The Redmen applied the mercy rule with a run in the fourth inning.

Murnahan was hit by a pitch for the second time, Guy singled, a wild pitch moved the runners up and a missed third strike by the catcher allowed the run to score.

“We were focused for the game. We came in and did what we had to do to win. That was the key I was looking for coming in,” Litteral said.

Rock Hill, 5-0 and 3-0 in the OVC, hosts Coal Grove Monday.
