MOWERYTOWN — It was a team title.

The Rock Hill Redmen used some clutch team play to win the Whiteoak Wooden Bat Classic Saturday.

“This was our best team effort all year. We had three sacrifice bunts. Josh Guy had two sacrifice bunts and T.J. Blagg one that really helped,” Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.

In the first game, Rock Hill scored four times in the third inning en route to an 11-0 win over host Whiteoak.

Guy walked, stole second base and scored when Nick Howard was safe on an error. K.C. Christian walked, Blagg was hit by a pitch and Williams had a two-run double. J.C. Murnahan was safe on an error as a run scored.

The lead went to 8-0 in the fourth inning.

Mark Anderson singled and Howard was safe on an error. Christian and Williams walked to force in a run. Murnahan walked to drive in a run and Carl Blankenship singled home two runs.

Williams slammed a three-run homer in the fifth inning to produce the mercy rule win.

In the championship game, Rock Hill got two runs in the sixth inning to rally for a 5-4 win.

Blankenship singled, Guy put down a sacrifice and Nick Bryant had an RBI double.

Christian beat out an infield hit and then Blagg and Williams walked to force home the winning run.

The Redmen got a run in the firs when Christian walked, stole second base, Guy had a sacrifice and Williams grounded out.

A run scored in the fourth inning when Murnahan and Blankenship single, Guy had a sacrifice and Anderson singled.

The third run scored in the fifth on back-to-back doubles by Blagg and Williams.

Rock Hill, 8-2, hosts South Point Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
