UNION TOWNSHIP— A 7-year-old boy was killed Monday, the victim of an apparent accidental electrocution.

Lawrence County Sheriff Tim Sexton has identified the victim as Fred Allan Henson. The incident took place just after 5:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Henson’s State Route 243 residence.

“It looks like they had a fence around animal pens and it appears the boy came into contact with the fence,” Sexton said.

The child was taken to a Huntington, W.Va., area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family,” he said. “This is a terrible, tragic thing.”
