Rock Hill reaches finals with win over Waverly

PEDRO — Baseball is a team game. Just ask the Rock Hill Redmen.
Rock Hill used its experience to beat the Waverly Tigers 7-0 Monday in the Division II sectional tournament.,” White said.
“The kids played hard. They played a good team game. They hit behind runners and moved people up. We executed well,” Redmen coach Barry Litteral said.
Rock Hill, 16-4, plays at 5 p.m. Thursday at Jackson. The Ironmen beat Vinton County 10-0 in the other sectional game.
The Redmen took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
K.C. Christian singled, T.J. Blagg walked and both moved up on Michael Williams’ ground out. Josh Moore and J.C. Murnahan walked to force in a run.
The lead went to 4-0 in the second inning.
Mark Anderson singled, Nick Howard walked and both moved up on a passed ball. Christian grounded out for run and Blagg reached on an error as a runner scored.
Blagg then stole second base and came home on a hit by Williams.
Murnahan hit a solo home run in the third inning and Christian belted a two-run shot in the fourth after a walk to Howard.
Moore worked six inning for the win. He struck out second and walked two.
