Lewis gets 2nd win on TSJGC tour

LAVALETTE, W.Va. — It’s the Tri-State Junior Golf Circuit’s version of back-to-back tour wins.

Justin Lewis of South Point got his second straight 16-18 age division tour win Tuesday at Sugarwood Golf Club on the third stop of the Tri-State Junior Golf Circuit.

Lewis shot a 1-under par 70 to take medalist honors for the tournament.

Also in the 16-18 age group, Ian Russell of Proctorville shot an 81 while Alex Brown of Ironton finished with a 94.

Ironton’s Nathan Kerns, who won the first two stops on the tour, finished third in the 13-15 age division with a 75, three strokes back of Morgan Dobbins of Jackson.

Andy Holtzapfel of Ironton and Jared Boster of Proctorville each shot a 92 in the 13-15 age division while Zac Taylor of South Point had a 94.

In the 10-12 age group, Coal Grove’s Brent Morgan carded a 57 and Callie Taylor of South Point shot a 61.

The circuit resumes on Thursday at Esquire Golf Club in Barboursville. Entry deadline is Monday (1-304-736-1476).
