The Rally on the River rolled on Saturday and thousands of people trickled in and out of the festival, despite the heavy storms that hit the area Saturday afternoon.

Events started early in the morning with a pancake breakfast at Peddler’s Home Cooking and kept going strong until the final musical performance.

Downtown, people crammed the sidewalks, enjoying the food, beverages and events like the popular “burn-out” contest and the beer-belly championship.

Many festivalgoers ran for shelter and waited out the afternoon downpours, then resumed their partying afterward. Heavy crowds filled the streets Saturday night.

“There were a lot of people down here (this afternoon) and it didn’t matter that it was raining,” said Bob Young, a biker who came from Chillicothe. “We all came here to have fun. The rain didn’t last long enough to stop us. You see that everybody is still out here.”
