Pointers win OVC golf

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The South Point Pointers used four to get one.
The Pointers landed all four players on the all-league team as they claimed the Ohio Valley Conference golf championship Friday at Sugarwood Golf Club.
South Point posted a 321
team score, 30 strokes better than runner-up Chesapeake. Fairland was only one shot behind Chesapeake while River Valley had a 397 total and Rock Hill 422.
Leading the Pointers All-OVC selections was conference medalist Justin Lewis who shot a 1-over par 72.
Chase McWhorter with an 82 and
Tommy Walker and Andrew Davis with an 83 each were the other Pointers to earn all-conference honors.
Earning All-OVC honors for Chesapeake were Kyle Rase, medalist co-runner-up at 79, and Byron Huff with an 83.
Fairland’s Ian Russell share medalist runner-up score as he carded a 79. Justin Nolan of River Valley had an 80 to complete the all-league team.
