Lady Dragons use balance to beat Portsmouth, 45-37

PROCTORVILLE — Everybody was getting into the act.
The Fairland Lady Dragons had 8 out of 10 players score as they got past the Portsmouth Lady Trojans 45-37 Monday in a non-league game.
Megan Auxier had 10 points to lead the balanced Fairland offense. Destinee Spears got 8 points and 10 rebounds, Shea Berry had 8 points and 6 rebounds and Emily McMaster added 7 points.
Jennifer Bendolph scored 17 points and Sydnee Jordan 10 to lead Portsmouth.
Auxier scored 7 points including a 3-pointer as Fairland took a 13-11 first quarter lead.
The scoring slowed down in the second quarter and the Lady Dragons were up 21-18 at the half.
Auxier hit another 3-pointer and Spears scored 4 points as Fairland went up 30-25 after three quarters.
In the fourth quarter, Shea Berry was 4 of 4 from the line and Emily McMaster had a key 3-pointer as Fairland outscored Portsmouth 15-12 to get the win.
