CHESHIRE — Who said a lamb is meek?

The Fairland Dragons have a Lamb who is far from meek and mild in Michael Lamb who scored 30 points in a 73-59 win over the River Valley Raiders in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Lamb’s output was backed by Jacob Lucas who scored 19 points. Cole Hatfield and Lamb also had 7 rebounds with Dustin Bumgardner pulling down 6.

Fairland led by as many as 26 points in the third quarter.

Brian Morrow had 18 points for River Valley. Leading scorere Jason Jones was held to 8.

“Cole (Hatfield) did a great job on Jones. To limit him to 8 points is huge, and Jacob and Michael had great games for us on offense,” Fairland coach Chad Belville said.

Lucas scored 7 of Fairland first 9 points and 11 for the quarter while Lamb had 9 points in building a 24-14 lead.

Lucas and Lamb scored 6 points each in the second quarter and Jordan Kersey hit a key 3-pointer to put Fairland up by 11 points and it was 43-27 a the half.

“Everyone played their role and a great job. It was a team effort,” Belville said

Lamb had 7 more points in the third quarter to make it 63-38.

Fairland committed 7 of their 14 turnovers in the fourth quarter when River Valley outscored the Dragons 21-10.
