Symmes Valley routs Hannan, 72-32

WILLOW WOOD — It’s a nice send off.

The Symmes Valley Vikings rolled past the Hannan (W.Va.) Wildcats at home Tuesday, their last home game before a pivotal four-game road series.

“We go to Green, Eastern, New Boston and Notre Dame our next three games, so we need every advantage we can get,” Vikings coach Alvin Carpenter said.

All 10 Vikings scored as they improved to 6-3 on the season. Michael Humphrey had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Kyle Meadows 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots to lead the win.

Also in double figures was Kirt Shipley with 12 points while Tyler Smith had 6 assists and joined Brice Sexton to get 4 steals.

“We had the chance to work on some things and look at a lot of people,” Carpenter said.

The game was over from the start. Humphrey had 9 points and Meadows 7 as Symmes Valley jumped in front 29-7 in the first quarter.

The lead was 40-12 at the break and then Shipley got 9 of his points in the third quarter and the Vikings coasted the rest of the way.
