SOUTH SHORE, Ky. — The time to watch is over. Now is the time to do.
The St. Joseph Female Flyers did not have enough players to sports a basketball team last season, but the wait is over and the Female Flyers are back in action after a 52-25 win over Harvest Christian
St. Joseph coach B.J. Hannon agreed with the idea that the girls just need some playing time.
“Sitting out a year has had an effect on the girls,” Hannon said. “We started playing together better, making better decisions. It’s a matter of coming together better. We took a good shots. We didn’t put up any wild shots.”
Charleigh Haas had 16 points and Michelle Staton 13 to lead the Female Flyers (3-2).
Haas had 8 points in the first quarter as St. Joseph raced to an 18-6 lead.
Staton came back with 6 points in the second quarter as the Female Flyers defense held Harvest Christian to 4 points to lead 35-10 at the break.
Hannon emptied his bench in the second half.
St. Joseph hosts South Gallia at 6 p.m. Monday before visiting Coal Grove on Tuesday.
