Marshall coaching legend

Cam Henderson will be featured in an encore presentation of the documentary about his career and life at Marshall.

“Cam Henderson: A Coach’s Story” will air at 8 p.m. Sunday on Huntington, W.Va., PBS station Channel 7.

Henderson invented basketball’s zone defense and fast break. Produced by Witek & Novak, this program traces his career from Bristol High School in Harrison County to Marshall College (Marshall University).

Under Henderson, Marshall won the national championship in 1947 and broke the color line in West Virginia college sports when he recruited future NBA Hall of Famer Hal Greer.
