RIO GRANDE — It was an all-district game, but it had a definite Lawrence County flavor.

The Coaches District 13 held its annual senior All-Star Game Monday at the University of Rio Grande with players from Lawrence County having an impact on the outcome of both games.

Ironton’s Chad Miller hit the game winning shot just before the buzzer as the Division III team won 112-111 over the Divisions I-II-IV team.

In the slam dunk contest, Rock Hill junior Nathan Davenport won for the second year in a row.

His winning dunk — which had a perfect score of 30 points from the three judges — came when he tossed the ball to someone sitting in a chair in front of the basket who bounced it off the backboard and Davenport leaped over the person in the chair, caught the ball and slam the ball through the basket.

Oak Hill’s Casey Love won the boys 3-point goal shooting contest with 7 of 10 and Keilee Guthrie of Alexander was 8 of 10 to win the girls’ contest.
