WILLOW WOOD — The shooting rollercoaster not only went down, but it jumped the track.

After shooting 49 percent in their last game, the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings shot a dismal 14 percent Monday in a 48-28 Southern Ohio Conference loss to the New Boston Lady Tigers.

Not only did the Lady Vikings make a mere 9 of 63 field goal attempts, they were just 9 of 20 from the foul line.

“We could not find the basket. We put up good percentage shots, but they did not fall,” Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant said.

“We did not rebound as well as we have in the past games and our defense stayed home tonight. They did not play aggressive defense at all. This is by far our worst outing of the year.”

Kayla Wiley led New Boston (8-3, 8-2) with 24 points.

Tiffany Bryant had 14 points and 8 rebounds for the Lady Vikings (5-5, 4-4). Haily Pelletier grabbed 11 rebounds.

Kayla Saunders sat out the first half due to a bad ankle. She did play in the third quarter as Symmes Valley got within 12 points, but New Boston began to pull away and was never headed.
