FRANKLIN FURNACE — Plan “A” worked, it was Plan “B” that was the problem.

Green tried to shut down Western outside and did, for the most part, but the Indians went inside to beat the Bobcats 75-63 Saturday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“They killed us inside. We shut them down outside which was the game plan, but we let them hurt us inside,” Green coach Dave Hopper said.

“When (Michael) White and (Jeremy) McLeod hit just three 3s between them, that’s pretty good.”

McLeod was able to score 25 points by going inside. Vince Shanks scored 16 and White added 12 for the SOC leaders, 13-2 and 10-1.

The Bobcats (6-10, 4-7) were led by Nathan Patten with 18 points. Ian Kelley had 15 points and 7 rebounds while Randy Ratcliff had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

McLeod scored 11 points in the first quarter as Western took a 19-14 lead.

Green trailed 31-25 at the half.

Patten scored 7 points and Corey Dyer came off the bench to score 5 of his 7 points in the third quarter, but Shanks had 8 points as Western went up 56-43.

Ratcliff and Kelley got 6 points each in the fourth. McLeod scored 7 in the fourth quarter as Western ended any comeback hopes.
