Coal Grove#8217;s July tradition goes forth

COAL GROVE— It has been a Fourth of July tradition for more than 20 years. Today, that tradition continues. The annual Coal Grove Family Fun Days begins at 4 p.m. at Paul Porter Park. Several hundred people will visit the park during the next three days to enjoy music concerts, take a chance at winning a cake or a pie or a gift basket and snatch up a hot dog or other goodies.
One new event this year a health fair Tuesday evening, compliments of Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Fun days participants may have ask blood sugar, cholesterol and other screenings.
The event is sponsored each year by the Coal Grove Betterment Club and the village of Coal Grove.
The grand finale is the Tuesday night fireworks display. Activities begin at 4 p.m. each day.

Sunday, July 1
4 p.m.— Opening ceremonies; VFW 8850 will present colors, Chris Laber will sing National Anthem and Mayor Larry McDaniel will give opening remarks.
4:30 p.m. — Music by Strong Tower of Zoar Baptist Church
5 p.m.— Music by John Smith
5:30 p.m. — Music by Michael Wilcoxon
6 p.m.— Music by The Gool Twins
6:30 p.m.— Music by Bridgett Reynolds
8 p.m. — Music by The Neal Family
