COAL GROVE — A field of 28 late models assembled at Rocky Top Raceway on June 15 for the second annual “Summer Sizzler.”

In the Summer Sizzler 40 lap Late Model A-Main, Tim Dohm and Josh Bocook battled side by side for the lead at the start.

Into turn three on the first lap, Dohm and Bocook made contact and slipped up the track to allow R. J. Conley to make a three-wide move to take the lead.

Dohm stayed on the rear of Conley the entire race, but just wouldn’t have enough as Conley led every lap to take the $3,000 prize.

Dohm finished second with Rod Conley third, Josh McGuire fourth, and Greg Oliver in fifth.

Dohm won the dash race while Rod Conley, Doug Drown, and Shawn Holliday won Carl Grover Motorsports heat races. Dennis Little won the B-Main.

In the Modified A-Main, Eddie Harmon took the lead at the start while the field battled hard behind him.

Just a few laps from the halfway mark, Greg Thompson went to the inside of Harmon as the two made contact with Thompson being charged with the caution and being done for the night.

Harmon got his spot back and went on to lead every remaining lap to take his fourth win of the season.

Adam Jordan finished second with Jason Perry third, Craig Christian fourth, and Miles Cook fifth. Harmon and Thompson won Carl Grover Motorsports heat races.

Wayne Hughes took the lead at the start of the Bomber A-Main and held off side by side charges from Brett Carey to take his third win of the season.

Brett Carey held on to the second position with Jeremie Bretz third, Perry Dearing fourth, and Jason Rayburn fifth.

Hughes and Dearing won Carl Grover Motorsports heat races while Dearing also won the non-winners race.
