Ladies 9-hole league keeps members busy

PINE GROVE — The Ironton Country Club Ladies Nine-Hole Golf Association has been busy for the past three weeks.

During the past few weeks, Judy Brose prepared breakfast treats and coffee for 16 members.

She also announced that Becky Dillow, Joyce Lewis and Becky Fraley as the winners of the None-Hole golf events. Flower baskets that align the course and clubhouse entrance were late filled by the members.

The previous week, Dillow served as hostess with an array of food treats, then announced Rose Auble, Mary Kay Washburn, and Georgia Willis as winners.

The members agreed that the club’s greens were in such great condition and congratulated greenskeeper Cliff Jenkins and his staff for their excellent work and beautiful landscape.

On another Tuesday morning, Pat Lambert was hostess providing breakfast goodies and announced the day’s winners: Georgia Triplett, Lambert, and Dillow.

New members continued joining the club including Julie Roach. Also returning were formers members Kathy Fraley and Washburn.

All members agreed a day will be selected to meet and continue to plant flowers, and the men’s organization will provide plants.

Nancy Livingston, Pat Riggs and Dillow were commended for obtaining the plants.

Next week’s hostess will be Ison. New members are welcomed.

Meetings will begin at 9 a.m. beginning Tuesday with golf at 9:30.
