An Elizabeth Township man died Friday as a result of a motorized vehicle accident at his home.
Carl Bailey, 71, of Walt’s Hollow was traveling around his property on his Honda scooter when he lost control of the vehicle, went over a hill, struck a tree and continued over the hill and struck a ditch next to County Road 4, according to Elizabeth Township Fire Chief Dale Waugh.
Bailey was taken by helicopter to Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. He died Sunday.

Saturday morning, a man and woman were injured when the four-wheeler they were riding crashed while they were traveling on County Road 128 at the Lawrence-Scioto line.
Sgt. Karla Taulbee, of the Scioto County Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said Nita Cline, of Rock Hollow Road was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, W.Va.
Jimmy Cline, her husband, sustained only minor injuries. The accident happened just after midnight.
Waugh said his department was called as first responders to a four-wheeler accident in Decatur Township. The accident happened on County Road 14 but the couple was taken to the Decatur Township Volunteer Fire Department, where medical help was summoned. The names of the people and other information about that accident was not immediately available.
