Source says Russian company eyeing Haverhill

A Proctorville man who tried to fight with corrections officers while he was housed in the Lawrence County Jail was among those indicted last week by a Lawrence County grand jury.

Johnny B. Lewis, of 6451 County Road 12, Proctorville, was indicted on one count each of attempt to commit burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft,

possession of a deadly weapon by an inmate and intimidation and four counts of harassment by an inmate.

Lewis was arrested on the theft and burglary charges and take to jail, where he allegedly taunted and spat on guards, rolled up and knotted a wet towel to use as a weapon and engaged in other misbehavior.

According to information from the office of Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Coller Jr., others indicted were:

— Paul D. Sergent, 29, 206 County Road 53, Kitts Hill, aggravated possession of drugs (oxycodone).

— Marcus Murphy, 19, 810 S. 10th St., Ironton, felonious assault.

— Roy E. Fannin, 36, Ashland, Ky., rape of a child under the age of 16.

— John D. Waugh, 30, 6006 State Route 141, Kitts Hill, burglary.

— William J. Pennington, 44, Brammer Drive, Coal Grove, one count each of burglary, domestic violence and felonious assault.

— Tiffany Thornsberry, 19, Portsmouth, one count each of theft of drugs (oxycontin) and aggravated possession of drugs (oxycontin).

— David M. Thornsberry, 22, of Portsmouth and Tiffany Thornsberry’s alleged co-defendant, complicity to theft of drugs (oxycontin) and complicity to aggravated possession of drugs (oxycontin).

— Joseph L. Wilson, 20, 404 Township Road 301, Ironton, one count each of possession of criminal tools and criminal trespass.

The grand jury met Thursday.
