South Point man dies in motorcycle crash

An accident Tuesday morning left a South Point man dead after a car pulled in front of his motorcycle while he was traveling on U.S. 52.
According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, around 8:30 a.m. the post got a call about a two-vehicle accident with serious injuries at the intersection of U.S. 52 and Township Road 286.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of the motorcycle, Gregory Chapman of South Point, was traveling west on U.S. 52 when a car driven by Joshua Childers, of Coal Grove, pulled into his path from Township Road 286 to turn left onto the highway.
The motorcycle struck the car’s left door and Chapman was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported to King’s Daughter’s Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. where he died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
